This project is part of a series of videos I did with material provided by Cinestudy: a film team that releases raw footage for editors to practice with.
This is the most extensive project I completed using Cinestudy’s material, and also the one I enjoyed the most. This 18-minute documentary/podcast-style piece follows hosts Soony Boo and Sabo Ross during their visit to the Ohio Renaissance Faire.
Individual interview segments were organized into separate sequences, allowing each section to be edited independently before being assembled into the full documentary.

Transcription was used early in the editing process to identify recurring subjects and themes among the people that were interviewed. Related dialogue was then grouped into segments to establish the structure of the video before B-roll and other visual material were added. Audio cleanup was done to provide better voice clarity to the best that it could be done due to the project being live public interviews.
Fitting music was added using audio from a third-party royalty-free source. Audio ducking was used, lowering the music beneath speech and restoring it during pauses to maintain clarity without losing the impact.
